Letter sent to our suppliers, clients and friends.
“ Monday May 24, 2004, my security guard, Komang, calls me from his village KARANGASEM (Bali – Indonesia). His wife just gave birth… In his voice, I can tell that it’s not a happy father that I am hearing, but a 20-year-old kid, collapsed !!! His little DODDY is just born, Sunday, May 23, 2004, 3.3 kilos. The delivery was fine… BUT…!!! DODDY has a harelip… mission DODDY begins…!!! “
Unlike so many other relieves organizations, I won’t give you a statement on the misery in Indonesia and on the need, bla bla bla…
To make it short, in Bali there are 56 “Doddy”, little angels awaiting an operation, but can’t afford it. This type of surgery costs Rp2,500,000 to 3,000,000, around €300.
Mission DODDY is very simple: to get surgery to 12 “little angels”, mission that we will carry out TOGETHER, modestly, quite simply, on our small scale!!!
Each contributor will be given a receipt and the name and address of the child that he helped to “reborn”. I am probably just like you, always in great demand and where does the money go?
In that particular case, mission Doddy, no surprise, the child is taken care of, will have surgery and when the bill is issued, I settle it and keep you informed.
This letter may looks a bit simplistic, however it’s done with total honesty and the firm intention to be completed (no matter what). Mission Doddy: to get 12 children to have an operation (one monthly) in 2004. Of course, you can contact me if there is any further information you require.
From €20 to 300, you are free to contribute the way you wish.
How, on behalf of these “little angels”, to thanks you? Maybe simply, by saying Thank you!!! Thank you so much and personally.
My motto: be proud of what you have just done
Some pictures of children who had surgery, here in Bali and the 56 “little angels” (names and address) who are waiting, waiting for US !!!
This letter was sent on June 1, 2004, on August 18 we began this humanitarian action, please find hereafter the feedback.
Thank you letter “ …our humanitarian action, was a huge success! As a matter of fact, on August 18, 19 and 20, thanks to your generosity, 4 “little angels” recovered a face that Mother Nature “neglected somehow”. For that mission, we were 14 people to wish and (and so to be able) to “help out”, in our way, some Balinese children, born with a cleft lip, in needy families, and with an unpromising future. What a delight to be able to use the perfect tense, because today it’s over. I personally attended the surgery, thanks to the permission granted by the Director of Puri Raharja Hospital in Denpasar and could take some pictures that you can see hereafter. The operations lasted 1.30 to 3 hours depending on the seriousness of each case. The post-operative hospitalization lasted 3 days and if God wished, the little scar, already lessening as I am writing, will completely vanish. What else can I say but thank you so much on behalf of these “little angels” and their family? Thanks on Yuni’s behalf and mine for having allowing us to live that experience, which will remain forever in our hearts. I shall never forget the emotion of a mother, before her child, deeply grateful to the person who managed to give some energy to help her child, who says: « banyak terima kasih », that “thanks”…it’s for you… THANK YOU
